Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)

The internal Quality Assurance Cell of Mar Sleeva college is instrumental in giving academic and administrative leadership to the institution, by embarking on,

a) new Student centric Quality initiatives,

b) setting benchmarks for academic and administrative activities

c) preparation of quality reports at various levels.

 

IQAC - Vision

To ensure quality culture as the prime concern for Mar Sleeva College, through institutionalizing and internalizing all the initiatives taken with internal and external support.

 

Mission 

  • To channelize and systematize the efforts and measures of an institution towards academic excellence.
  • To be the driving force for ushering in quality to remove deficiencies and enhance quality.

Objective:

The primary aim of IQAC is

  • Timely, efficient and progressive performance of academic, administrative and
    financial tasks
  • Equitable access to and affordability of relevant and quality academic programmes for various sections of society
  • Optimization and integration of modern methods of teaching and learning
  • Credibility of assessment and evaluation process
  • The adequacy, maintenance and proper allocation of support structure and services
  • To coordinate and improve internal communication to facilitate greater policy implementation and quality assurance towards its stakeholders.
  • Creating a student-centric atmosphere for holistic learning
  • To enhance the quality of staff by promoting and encouraging overall faculty development
  • To facilitate the integration of the various activities of the institution and institutionalize the best practices.

Functions

  • Development and application of quality benchmarks for various academic and administrative activities of an institution  
  • Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles.
  • Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process.
  • Arrangement for feedback responses from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes.
  • Documentation of the various programmes/activities of the College, leading to quality improvement.
  • Acting as a nodal agency of the College for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of good practices.
  •  To the enhancement and integration among the various activities of the institution and institutionalize many good practices.
  • Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining /enhancing the institutional quality
  • Periodical conduct of Academic and Administrative Audit and its follow-up.

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Mar Sleeva College of Arts and Science, Murickassery is the central system that promotes ‘quality culture’ within the institution by developing mechanisms and procedures to help the institution to grow exponentially. It channelizes the efforts of each department towards academic excellence by insisting on integration of modern methods of teaching and learning. Formed in accordance with the guidelines and norms set by NAAC, it tries to ensure that quality is strictly maintained, sustained and augmented by taking the needs of all the stakeholders into consideration. The cell helps in ensuring more effective and active participation and contribution of all the stakeholders. The IQAC meets at least once in a month every year to discuss plans and review progress of the earlier plans implemented.
