Master of Social Work

Master in social work(MSW) is a newly began course in Mar Sleeva College of Arts and Science in the year 2020 affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University. The social work course is a two year full time post graduate program.The department of social work aim at creating young  social workers who are socially committed and professionally competent.  Students who have completed bachelor degree in any academic discipline can pursue the course.The program offers three specializations:

• Community Development
• Medical and Psychiatric Social Work
• Family and Child Welfare

The MSW curriculum help the students to understand and create a strong theoretical framework needed for the social work practice. The field work is also important as the academics which prepare the students to develop new skills, competencies required for the direct practice.The social work profession opens immense opportunities in various Gov/Non Governmental organisations,CSR projects, counselling,therapists or social workers in the field of mental health, child welfare etc.
